The quaint decor is charming, but the room was a bit too small.

The rooms come with a well-equipped bathroom featuring a hot shower that's great for warming up after nasty weather. For those needing a bite, the dinner menu holds a decent array of options, making it easy to find a meal that satisfies.
The parking situation is a bit of a hassle—just three spaces in the rear. A tiny bit of public parking across the street. The noise from the extractor fan forced a room change, but the alternative had sloping ceilings which may not suit everyone. The access routes to the rooms run through the bustling restaurant and kitchen area, which can feel like an awkward trek at times. Lastly, the nearby abandoned warehouse doesn’t exactly add to the neighborhood charm, as it gives off a slightly neglected vibe.

The stay was incredibly relaxing. The room was spacious with comfy armchairs and a super king-sized bed, ensuring a good night's sleep. The food was above average, and the attention to detail by the staff was impressive. We felt it was a lovely getaway, just perfect for exploring nearby attractions like Dedham and Constable Country.

Dine with a riverside view
Woke up to the aroma of homemade breakfast and enjoyed picturesque views over the river. The seafood dinner was fantastic, bursting with local flavors.
The room felt a bit snug, making it hard to move around. the lack of secure bike storage was a concern for us.

definitely want to stay in that area again
Stayed in a lovely room with a river view. It had a spacious bathroom, flat-screen TV, and comfy seating. The tea and coffee station was nice. A bottle of spring water. Breakfast was delish, with a variety of fresh options. The seafood dining was a highlight too!

The food at Mistley Thorn was delightful and fresh, and the staff were friendly and accommodating, even offering a take-away breakfast. the room was lacking in sound insulation and could have been more spacious. Parking was quite limited which added to the inconvenience.
